"What's Baptism?"

I can't believe its already been another week!!! To start off the week we were able to do smores at a restaurant, which is cool!
We had a ton of finding miracles!! One day this past week we had some time before dinner and so we were out walking the streets! and we met SO many people! We talked with EVERYONE and set some return appointments! I love how much I can see Heavenly Fathers hand in our life! He truly does guide us! There was no coincidence we were knocking the houses we were. Heavenly Father has people everywhere who are prepared to hear this message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We just have to put our faith in Him and go forward!

We also met with a part member family, the Sargents, who just moved into the ward! We were trying to figure out who would be a good fellowship for this family and when we were at correlation with our ward mission leader a family came to our minds! So we asked the Roper family if they could come to a lesson with us and they said why don't you invite them over for dinner and we can have a lesson afterwards! (What?!) That's the kind of member missionary I want to be someday! The Roper family is AMAZING! So we all went over there and it was just perfect! The families were great for each other! All the kids got along together! Almost at the end of the Restoration lesson, the oldest son William asks "what's baptism?" (uhh... missionary fail!) You can tell Sister Caudill and I are use to teaching people who already know this stuff haha but it has been a good learning experience for us! From that point on we were better at explaining things! and when we were about to leave and were setting up another time for a lesson, Sister Roper invited us all over again on sunday for the same thing! And yesterday we invited them to be baptized on May 14th! So the two children are preparing for baptism!

Anyways, this past week truly was wonderful! Sister Caudill and I set a goal to read the Book of Mormon last transfer and this past week we were able to finish it! I LOVE the Book of Mormon! It truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. President Gordon B. Hinckley declared: "Those who have read the Book of Mormon prayerfully, be they rich or poor, learned or unlearned, have grown under its power... without reservation I promise you that if you will prayerfully read the Book of Mormon, regardless of how many times you previously have read it, there will come into your hearts.. the Spirit of the Lord. There will come a strengthened resolution to walk in obedience to His commandments, and there will come a stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God." I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon! I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and contains the fullness of the gospel! Learn to LOVE this book, it changes lives! Have a blessed week!

I want to be Baptized!

April 18th

Hey Yall!
This week Sister Caudill and I have been doing a lot of thinking about why the people here in Oklahoma are SO nice! Everyone here is just friendly!! Earlier this week we were out walking the streets and we saw two people fixing up this house. We started talking with them and they told us that the church they go to, Word of God, fixes up houses for people to live in and the one they were working on is a transition home. We ask if we could help and they said that their church was just up the road and we could go talk to the person is charge of the houses. So we head up there and walk into their church. We walk in, not even members of this church, and the people there were SO kind and welcoming! They took us right into their office! and then asked us what we needed and found the person we needed to talk to. So we end up telling them about justserve.org (if you haven't been on the website, check it out!) and how we would love to come help them and have other members from the community come to! Afterwards he give us some banana bread. This is bread they fundraise to help keep their church going and they just gave it to us for free! So so kind of them! We decided that its all the churches here that make people so friendly. Having God in the community just makes all the difference. Everyone is trying to be a better person and in result you just get really friendly people! I have some of the nicest people ever, here in Oklahoma!!

On Saturday the Elders investigator Bob, got baptized! Bob was given a Book of Mormon by President Joseph Fielding Smith over 40 years ago! and on Saturday he was baptized! When he was in his 20s he got to meet the prophet when he was in Utah. Its a neat story! Well anyways there was this cute young family in the ward that attended the baptism and the little boy who is 3 said, "I want to be baptized!" This was the 3rd baptism he had been to and ever since he just keeps talking about being baptized! It was SO cute! Afterwards we had a lesson with a member referral, Casey! Him and Brother Larson attended the baptism and he has been to church a couple times too. The lesson went really well! As missionaries we role play every morning for lessons we are going to teach and to practice teaching. We had role played a couple times in preparation for teaching Casey and it was so neat to see the things we had practiced, happen in the lesson! Similar situations happened and it was neat to see the revelation we had received before to help us teach him! God is so nice! I LOVE this gospel and I am so so so grateful to be sharing this message with everyone!

Thanks for all the support, prayers, and love! Have a blessed week!

We started teaching this super cute family! And their girls are adorable! Their cat just had 4 little kittens and they showed them all to us :)

Sister Caudill and I tried to take a picture with this sign that says, "Welcome to the Village" but we couldn't quite get it and this was the best picture we got! And GREAT news, we are staying together for another transfer!!!!

We had dinner with President and Sister Gray!!! They are such great people! I want to be like them someday!

Hey Yall!

Its been another wonderful week! Full of some miracles! And some stormy weather too :) the lightning and thunderstorms here are something else!

1st miracle! The Quail Creek family had a family move into our ward that is a part member family! We were able to help them pack up this past week! Such a sweet family! 2nd Miracle! Christine! I just love her! She is already to Mosiah! She has only been reading the Book of Mormon since February and remember she is 92! #lifegoals She also recently got the BYUtv channel and we were able to watch music and the spoken word with her and watch General Conference in sign language with her!

Sister Caudill and I set this goal to bike every day! We were biking through this really pretty neighborhood with actual grass! So we had to stop and take a picture!

While visiting this less active we saw this super cute little girl Alora! She is just like Alex!  We had to take some pictures of her :)
We also helped someone clean there house and yes it was an ADVENTURE! And yes that is a dead mouse, we may have found 2 while cleaning her kitchen! She prepared us well with aprons, gloves, and a fancy paper towel holder that she made!

Things are going just wonderful here in OK! I just LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! Thanks for all the support, encouragement and prayers! Have a blessed week! Yall are in my prayers!

News from Heaven General Conference!

April 4th

Last week a member took us to Pops! Off of Route 66 in Arcadia, OK! It was SO fun! They have this giant soda pop outside and inside they have over 700 different kinds of pop to chose from! Its a must see if you are ever close by!

Tuesday we had Zone Conference! And during lunch President Walkenhorst had us all write on post cards to the new mission president! I am sad to see that President Walkenhorst's time is coming to an end. He said its such a weird thing being called to be a mission president. You know as soon as your called when you will be released. And 6 months before you leave they tell you who your replacement will be! I LOVE President and Sister Walkenhorst! I am excited to get to know President and Sister Mansell as well.

Thursday I had the opportunity to go to a Funeral of one of our investigator's friend. She had planned and prepared it all so we wanted to go to support her. It was at a Black Baptist church and Sister Caudill and I were the only white people there! It was an interesting experience. The music and the people talking were all SO loud! I just felt uncomfortable and was wondering how anyone could feel the spirit with everything being so loud. The preacher just kept saying over and over again, "Do you have your ticket to Heaven" and pointing at us. It was awkward haha. I turned to Sister Caudill and said, "yes I do" and smiled! I was just imagining conference coming up and the quiet, soothing voices of the church leaders! and Motab too. Afterwards we went to the car and put on some Motab. Nothing brings the music quite like the hymns!

The Bunches got married! They are such a cute family! They have us over for dinner almost every single week!

And lastly... General Conference! Such a wonderful weekend! I have been so inspired and uplifted. The prophet, apostles, and leaders know exactly what we each need to hear. And I know that what they have said is TRUE! I am so grateful for their testimonies of the gospel! And for the chance we get to hear from them every 6 months! We are all SO BLESSED! After General Conference Sunday evening we met with this amazing family! The family was referred by a member in another ward. The moms work together! This family is SO cute! They have four kids (10, 8, 7, 6)! I forgot how challenging it can be to teach a family! They kids are so full of energy! To keep their attention during a lesson can be tough but it was so worth it! This family is SO prepared!

I hope yall had a wonderful week! If you didn't get a chance to watch General Conference, go watch it! It truly is such a joy that we get to hear from the leaders of the church! They tell us exactly what we need in todays world! I LOVE the gospel and I am so grateful to be apart of such a wonderful church! Have a blessed week :)

All my love,
Sister Jackon
