Happy Halloween

This past week was a whirlwind! I can't even remember everything that happened! We took a lot of pictures though!

This past week we helped out at the Grisso again for the Ghost Tours. Sister Burley and I just pass out cookies at the end of the tour. When we first got there every one was still in the tour so Sister Burley and I decided to practice teaching each other while we were waiting. Once everyone started coming we stopped and started talking with people. We met this cute lady named Lynn and her family. She was so impressed with us and told us, "I could talk to yall all night." Unfortunately she said she had to go and started to walk away. Inside I was thinking "no, she can't leave." So we blurted out right before she left, "Can we come over sometime to talk with you more?" And she said "absolutely! And gave us her number! It was a miracle!!!!! I know we had this little tender mercy because we role played and followed President's counsel about teaching more!

Both Sister Burley and I got cards from our grandmas for Halloween with some money to get a little treat! We LOVE Braums! Thanks to my Mom, Family, and Sister for sending Halloween goodies as well :)

Another miracle we had this past week! We were out inviting people to the fall social and we saw this guy sitting on his couch on the porch. We walk over and invite him to the party and then he says, "Can I have that pamphlet?" (We had a Restoration pamphlet in our hand with the flyers to the party). We then started talking with him about the gospel and set up an appointment to come back! We went back the next day and his brother said he was in the shower. We thought it was just an excuse but we remembered we had a missed call from an unknown number. We called the number back and it was Chad! The guy we were suppose to meet with. He asked if we were still coming by today! (He remembered) So we told him what his brother said and that we could be back over in just a couple minutes. We then taught him the Restoration and are going back again later this week!

Another amazing week being in the service of God! I love being a missionary! And I love this gospel! How blessed we are to be able to share it with those around us!! Have a blessed week!

All my love,
Sister Jackson

Hey Yall!

So this past week we had a Mission wide cleaning day. They had all us missionaries stay inside for the day and deep clean our apartments! Lets just say some apartments were pretty nasty including ours! Missionaries have lived in most apartments for awhile. This was after we sprayed some cleaning stuff on it. It was pretty gross

Easy off works great!! Before and After! Plus half of the front cleaned. We took a picture so we could see the difference! The Mansells made it fun and told us to take pictures along the way and there will be prizes at the Christmas Conference. The stove was definitely the worse part of what we cleaned. Who knows how long it has been since missionaries had cleaned it.

With the cleaning this past week, our week was a bit slow. It wasn't too eventful but still a great week! We wanted to try something new for some finding activities so we decided to try drawing on the sidewalks. We didn't have chalk so we stopped at the dollar general and Sister Burley found 1 package of chalk by the Halloween decorations and when we went to pay for it, the chalk was only 11 cents!!! It was a miracle! So we went in front of Ladles of Love, a soup kitchen, and did some art work!! I'll try and send a picture next week of it!

Things are going wonderful in good ole' Seminole!!! Thanks for all the support, love, and prayers! Sorry its a short email. Have a blessed week!!!

All my love,
Sister Jackson

Sister Parsons had a Halloween party for her activity day girls and invited us to stop by! We also helped her set up for it! Sister Burley and I dressed up as each other

"I'm really starting to get into it"

Hey Yall! I can't believe its been another week already! Sister Burley and I have seen so much goodness this past week. I wanted to share one experience!

We are still meeting with David and Shani! And they are doing great. Sunday morning right before church David called and said he couldn't make it. We asked if Shani needed a ride and he said no I can bring her. So about 15 minutes later Shani came into church with the boys. She came by herself!!! Since I first met her she was nervous about the boys but she brought them. She LOVED church from last week and her boys did really well again. She even stayed for Sunday School. We had a lesson on tithing and she said she enjoyed it because we had already talked about it before. She even participated! After church we stopped by to teach them a lesson but David had to go somewhere so we ended up just saying a prayer with them. The thought came to ask little David, he is 3, to help me with the prayer. We have invited Shani to pray with the boys but she says they are too young. Its hard cause they have never prayed before. David came over and followed what I was doing and folded his arms but then he got distracted and ran off lol. I didn't want to stop there so I remembered I had some gummy bears in my bag so I pulled them out and told David he could have them after he prays with us. So he folds his arms again and then said what I said. It was super short but he did it! Afterwards Shani was just grinning! She was so excited!!!! It was a tender teaching experience. Also a couple days before this we were talking with Shani about the Book of Mormon and she said, "I'm really starting to get into it!" I love this family! They are all doing so well!

I'm sorry I don't have more time to write! I love all yall!! Things here in Oklahoma are going really well!!! I love being a missionary so much!!!

Sister Jackson

Happy Fall Yall!

I just love this time of year! And this past week was such a wonderful week! My new companion is Sister Burley! She is from Mesa, AZ! I feel so blessed to be her companion! She is the sweetest! I love her already! And she is so excited to be here! Her best friend is also serving in this mission so she has heard a bunch about it! I have no doubt that we were suppose to be companions!

We have already seen so miracles together! The very next day Trey texted us and said he wants to be baptized! That evening we met with him and he said he wanted to get baptized in the next couple weeks! He is doing so well! We also met with Shani and David (David is Elvis's step son)! Shani expressed another one of her hold ups for coming to church: she didn't have anything to wear! We thought of a member who might have something and on Saturday a member brought her a ton of clothes! and we did a church tour! Shani was so excited! We watched the Restoration video with them and her two boys were silent for the whole thing! #miracle! These 2 boys are so rowdy sometimes but they were quiet! And Shani and David felt the spirit! Shani said she even shed a tear. Afterwards Sister Burley said, "I was praying so hard that the boys would stay still." Heavenly Father answers prayers. And on Sunday they came to church with their 2 boys! The boys did really well for there first time in church! And David stood up and bore his testimony. He shared how he had heard some things about the church before but he knows they aren't true. He said, "Yall believe what I believe. We have been looking for a church to go to and we finally found one." His testimony was so sincere and genuine. Afterwards the high counselor stood up and bore his testimony and thanked David for his testimony and shared his conversion story when he was 19. It was a such a special meeting!

Heavenly Father has blessed us all so much this past week! I'm so grateful for it! And for all the tender mercies! I just LOVE being a missionary! Hope yall have a blessed week!

All my love,
Sister Jackson

"Jesus Christ is Joy"- President Nelson

Heavenly Father answers prayers! I have seen that so much this past week! I had a couple experiences I wanted to share
  • We had another lesson with JoAnn and in her prayer she said, "I had some questions but they seem to be getting answered." We watched the Restoration video with her and I always feel the spirit so strong whenever I watch it! She said she was going to continue reading more from the Book of Mormon
  • Trey came to General Conference!!
  • Last week when Elvis got baptized his step son David came. This past week we met with him and his wife Shani! They both expressed wanting to be baptized! We have never really met with David before. Shani normally joined the lessons with Elvis and believes everything we have taught! The hard thing for them is coming to church. So please keep them in your prayers that they will be able to overcome that fear and come to church!
  • Lastly on Thursday when we were out finding. We were walking down the street and saw an older man pull into his driveway and get out of the car. We were still a little ways down the street when he started to go inside. We wanted to talk to him so Sister Long yells, "Hello, how are you?" haha so he turns around and looks at us and we hurry down the road to talk with him. His name is Carl and he has had so many touches with the church. Same with his girlfriend Ginger too. They know so many members! There were so sweet to us and told us we could come back again sometime!
And this past weekend was General Conference!!!!

My mom shared the picture quotes with me and I thought I would share them too! Thanks Mom! All the talks were SO good! We were greatly blessed and spiritually enriched. How blessed we are for the wonderful leaders in our church that have been called of God. They truly spoke to each one of the us.

One of my favorites was President Nelson about joy: "The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives. When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives." I loved how much they talked about our relationship with Heavenly Father and Christ. How we need to be doing things to strengthen that. Whether its through church, prayer, or reading the scriptures. So many ways to strengthen our faith and we need to be doing that everyday so we can be more faithful followers and disciples of Christ.

I hope all yall were touched in some way from General Conference! We are all so blessed from the Gospel of Jesus Christ! and how blessed we are with the opportunity to share it. To share truth with others around us. Don't forget to read and pray! Heavenly Father always wants to hear from us. Have a blessed week!

All my love,
Sister Jackson
