Can yall believe September is over?! I am so excited for General Conference this weekend! I hope all the women got to watch the General Women's Meeting! It was so good! It seems like a common theme for me lately has been faith, hope, and charity! What a great talk by President Uchtdorf on just that!
This past week was a busy one! Tuesday I had my first Zone Conference! It was so great hearing from the leaders in my mission! President always leaves me feeling edified and spiritually uplifted! He brought up so many good things but one thing that he really stressed was the Doctrine of Christ. And how it is through the Doctrine of Christ, every part (faith, repentance, baptism, Holy Ghost, endure to the end), that we can find a remission of our sins. (Moroni 8:25, D&C 49:13) He challenged us to find scriptures that correspond with this!
We have been making good progress with Sister Cruze! Missionaries have been trying to work with her for awhile now but we are the first sisters she has let in! We were able to help her get a blessings this past week and we helped her get started on family history! Did you know that you can request patriarchal blessings of your ancestors who have passed away? I just recently found this out and I think that is so cool! You can request the blessing on lds.org!
We have a senior missionary couple, the Luthers, serving in Lawton at the Fort Sill Military Branch. Well they joined us for a lesson with the Beckettes this past week. Nephi and Liam are doing so well! Sister Beckette works at Hallmark and the Luthers see her all the time at Hallmark! They have been wanting to meet her kids so they came with us. Elder Luther gave the 3 kids the small pocket size Book of Mormons that we give the soldiers. They loved it!
Church yesterday at Fort Sill was packed! They had so many soldiers there! A lot of the soldiers that are members bring their battle buddies with them to church and yesterday there was probably 25 visitors at church for the first time! They ended up having to split the first lesson (the restoration) in half cause there were so many people! It wasn't my week to teach but I sat in on one of the lessons and the spirit was so strong! At the end of church I talked with 2 soldiers during fellowship time Toombs and Malone. Malone is the investigator and she is amazing! She told me she just recently has been feeling like she needs to go to a church and read the bible. She doesn't understand why and says it is a little weird but she is truly searching truth! The spirit is working on her! Being a missionary truly is the best!
